Turtletaub and San Mateo heating up

Almost a year ago, the San Mateo girls’ soccer team was still searching for its first Peninsula Athletic League win.

This year, Bearcats’ forward Katelyn Turtletaub has made it clear that she doesn’t expect her team to get off to a slow start again.

Mitty's Marija-Sola named AOTW

In just her second season on the varsity team, Ana Marija Sola was named as one of Mitty’s captains. After what the junior did last week, the captaincy looks to be well-deserved.

Marija Sola had a huge week for the Lady Monarchs, scoring a hat trick and adding two assists against Antioch. That alone earned Marija Sola CCSsportsline.com Athlete of the Week honors, but her assist on the game-winning goal against Amador Valley is also worth mentioning.

The Milpitas boys’ soccer team is hoping a trio of talented offensive players can take the team to where it wants to go.

Ramiro Ceja, Martin Lopez and Andrew Shin are each talented offensive playmakers, and head coach Bill Leffler is hoping that the three players can work together to score a boatload of goals this season.
