The Jewish Community girls’ basketball team has never had more than one senior on any team. This year that has all changed, as head coach Leo Stern has four seniors on his Wolves team.
The coach is hoping that the added experience and veteran leadership will guide the team to unparalleled heights in the program’s fifth year.

Just three years ago, the Jewish Community of the Bay boys’ basketball team was suffering through one of its worst seasons in the program’s history under second-year head coach Tim Kjar.
The Wolves finished the 2007-2008 season with just six wins and were just 4-9 in a league that the team had dominated in years past.
Kjar has continued to build up the program, however, and after two consecutive seasons of growth the team will be looking to make its first ever CCS Division 5 playoff appearance.

The Palma boys’ basketball team has established itself as one of the top teams in the area, having won the Tri County Athletic League for the past four years. This year will offer a new challenge, however.
“We are gunning for our fifth TCAL title in a row but are a very young team,” head coach Paul Alioto said. “(We have) four sophomores in the playing rotation and are playing a very competitive preseason schedule.”
